Oil on canvas portrait, "Portrait of Jana K." by Milaslov Dymacek (Czech, b. 1955) from 1987. I like this painting--there's an undeniable crudeness to the anatomy but the colors are very good. It has a kind of striving that I recognize and appreciate, even if he can't quite stick the landing. It's been in my house for a few months and I like living with it.
