This is an Arco Desk designed by BBPR for the Italian manufacturer Olivetti in the 1960s. It is made of heavy steel with an upholstered top.
Studio BBPR (an acronym of its founders' names) was an architectural and design studio established in Milan in 1932 by four alumni of the Politecnico di Milano: Gian Luigi Banfi (1910, Milan–1945, Gusen-Mauthausen Concentration Camp in Austria), Lodovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso (1909, Milan–2004, Milan), Enrico Peressutti (1908, Pinzano al Tagliamento–1976, Milan), and Ernesto Nathan Rogers (1909, Trieste–1969, Brescia).
BBPR are one of the most celebrated design firms of Postwar Italy. They are best known for their techno-Gothic Torre Velasca, built in Milan in 1958.
